Kozan Vintage Japanese Red Clay Flowe Engraving Kyusu Teapot (Tokoname Japan)光山
This teapot is made approx. 40 years ago.
You can feel the the style, carving art, clay of the time.
Also you can feel the good clay of the time ( fine texture and has glow) .
Shape is typical late Showa era style, which is bold and simple (body, lid, handle) .
Caving is deep and bold. It is dynamic. It shows the energy of the artist and people’s preference at that time.
Strainer(Filter) is also handmade. (make holes by hand)
Teapot body is rather thick so that carving lines cab be deep and bold.
Nowadays, this kind of carving is not seen in Tokoname teapots.
Clay, Shape, Carving.. Everything shows late Showa era of Japan.
