Beautiful wood firing black cup.

Cedar tree was used as fire wood for firing in kiln – Ash of Cedar on the cup.

The body of the cup have soft black and grey. Fly ash glaze inside / outside on the cup.

Whitish ash is like snow… nuance white, gray, green, pink mixture of many colors are seen in the body. Inside of cup has different color. Pink, green, grey.. like deep in the lake.

Very rich in texture, good feeling in your hand.

His works gives quietness calmness. The shape, color of the body, fly ash…deep beauty and touch to your heart.

Shinohara used to be a monk, he started make pottery to express his inner world on his pottery.
