Wood fired.

Wood ash settles on the teacup during the firing. Dark soft gray ash flowing on blue body makes nature scene.

Shape is very unique and rim of the cup is thin and delicate. 

The Yamada families have been producing teapots in 5 generations.

Sou Yamada is a grandson of Jozan Yamada the 3rd, who was recognized by the Japanese government as Important Intangible Cultural Property (Living National Treasure) .

It is made as a cup, but you can also use it as mini pitcher – water flow from the two of spout-like part is good.
